In 2004, Wal-Mart launched a company-wide sustainability initiative with the goals of generating zero waste, being supplied by 100% renewable energy and to selling products that sustain resources and the environment.
The Cleantech Group is serving Wal-Mart to:
• Communicate to the market their needs to meet these objectives; and
• Assist in identifying technologies and solutions which will generate demonstrable progress towards these goals.
This site will serve as the gateway between solution providers and Wal-Mart. As a registered user of this site you will be able to access descriptions of Wal-Mart's needs and provide information on your suggested solutions.
Wal-Mart seeks to identify solutions that can be integrated into their current operations. Thus, while research and development projects are of interest, the principal areas of focus are on solutions that can be deployed in the next 24 months. Submittals will be confidentially reviewed and responses will be provided on how well these meet stated need(s). If a solution appears promising, additional steps will be provided towards a procurement dialog directly with Wal-Mart.
In order to access the site you will need to register*.
*Registration will provide access to descriptions of the cleantech or sustainability needs along with a means for you to provide the initial information on your solution. You will also be able to submit product literature and other documents.
