Roseville, Calif.-based Schott Solar has announced it plans to supply AEE Solar with 5 megawatts of multicrystalline photovoltaic modules as part of a multi-year contract.
The companies did not disclose financial terms of the deal.
Schott Solar, a subsidiary of Mainz, Germany-based glassmaker Schott Solar AG, is an integrated manufacturer of crystalline silicon wafers, cells and modules. AEE Solar has been a wholesaler of Schott’s modules in the U.S. since 1998.
Schott plans to manufacture the modules in its two U.S. sites: one in Billerica, Mass., and one under construction in Albuquerque, N.M. (see Schott Solar to build plant in New Mexico).
Schott has signed several deals in recent weeks as it awaits completion of the $100 million plant, which is expected to start shipping modules in spring 2009.
Earlier this month, Schott agreed to supply Healdsburg, Calif.-based DC Power Systems with 13 MW of modules (see Schott inks solar-module deal with DC Power).
In August, Schott Solar announced a 10 MW, three-year deal with Long Beach, Calif.-based PermaCity Solar (see Schott Solar, PermaCity in PV supply deal)
