October 2, 2008 by Jaswinder Kaur, India country director, Cleantech Group

Some of the biggest names in cleantech across the globe are planning to descend upon Mumbai next week for the Cleantech Forum XIX.

The Cleantech Group's inaugural India event on Oct. 7-9 will set the direction for the nation's rapid cleantech expansion. Investors, technology leaders, scientists and deal-makers will explore ways to shape the future of cleantech in Asia and throughout the world.

Minister Shri Vilas Muttemwar of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy is scheduled to deliver a keynote address on the policy perspective of moving "From Environmental Policy to Cleantech Markets."

Venture capitalists from domestic and international markets plan to attend. Among those expected are members of Advanced Technology Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Nexus India Capital, Sequoia Capital and TATA Capital.

Corporations such as Waterhealth Global, Moser Baer Photovoltaic, Tata Power and Unilever are also expected. And representatives from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency plan to attend.

And, of course, the networking is unparalleled. If you are involved in clean technologies in India, or doing business in the country, you cannot afford to miss this event.

We look forward to hosting you at the Renaissance Conference Centre. More information including the full program is available at www.cleantech.com/indiaforum.
