AORA unveils distributed solar thermal technology

In the proprietary system, a field of mirrors track the sun, focusing sunlight onto a 30-meter high tower that contains a solar receiver that heats air to 1,000 degrees Celsius. The heated air is used to run a standard 100-kW gas turbine engine, producing electricity and heat.
