N-Viro launches clean soil facility in Israel

Toledo, Ohio-based N-Viro International (OTC:NVIC) said today it’s starting construction of a new soil product line and manufacturing facility to serve the Dan region of Israel, which includes Tel Aviv.

The environmental and materials operating company owns patented technologies to convert waste into reuse products. N-Viro International said it operates some of its processing facilities independently and also licenses its technology to municipalities and private companies.

The new facility, to be owned and operated by the Dan region-based utility provider Shafdan, is expected to be operational in 2009. Israeli partners CRM Military and Civilian Technologies worked with N-Viro on the project. Financial details of the project were not disclosed.

N-Viro’s CEO Timothy Kasmoch said in a news release that the company is focused on growing its renewable biofuel product, N-Viro Fuel, in the United States, but is looking forward to expanding its global footprint, with a presence in Israel through its N-Viro Soil product line and manufacturing process.

The company’s process stabilizes and pasteurizes wastewater sludge from municipal wastewater treatment facilities, reducing odors, and neutralizing or immobilizing toxic components. The end product, N-Viro Soil, has a granular appearance similar to soil. Its commercial uses include agricultural lime, soil enrichment, top soil blend, landfill cover and filter, and land reclamation.
