In less than 5 years and for a needed technological transition to solar, wind, and alternative fuels, domestically produced U.S. natural gas should fuel our cars and trucks - a multiple win for America: clean, available, known technology, total independence from foreign oil, safer and less costly than nuclear, cleaner than coal, (see U.S. Department of Energy - natural gas fueled cars would be about 70% cleaner than gasoline driven cars,) short and long term job creation, etc. Congress could this legislation before year end but probably won't due to the U.S. Senate being controled by corporate interests pass. A very realistic, quick, and pragmatic and proven solution to our energy, environmental, and economic problems with very little government involvement except for standards and seed money that would reap amazing returns and positive changes for America.
