I read the report which the article linked to...no where in the report does it claim that "Recycling paper and plastic consumes more energy and resources than it saves". It does make the unsupported assertion that because the UK does little manufacturing, that the energy saved by using recycled feedstocks would not inure to the UK. This is a much different argument than your headline. Did you actually read the report? I suggest you retract, or at least properly title this article.
