Where WSJ’s cleantech list misses the mark

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) released its first list yesterday detailing its top 10 most promising venture-backed cleantech companies, with plans to publish its first ranking of its top 50 companies later this month.

Sure, there are a lot of recognizable names.

But the list only includes U.S.-based companies, and, among them, is heavily weighted to the high profile solar, vehicle and smart grid sectors that dominate the news.
