The Position

Cleantech Group is looking for a junior consultant to join our growing consulting team.

Location:  Remote, North America


  • Conduct secondary and primary research, develop insight relevant to project workstream with context of overall project, research the client organization and industry
  • Ensure slides are client ready, with clear writing, consistent presentation
  • Work with research analysts to draw on sector experience and share insights
  • Participate in client conversations and workshops, demonstrating knowledge of relevant research
  • Develop an understanding of the cleantech business models, technologies, participants and ecosystem
  • Conduct on-going primary research interviews with entrepreneurial companies and other stakeholders across the clean technology ecosystem. Identifying and completing interviews is a key success factor in this role.
  • Conduct on-going secondary research, including identifying new companies, investments and partnerships, and ensuring activity is correctly tracked and uploaded into our online research platform.
  • Contribute to the marketing efforts of the team through blog style posts via Cleantech Group marketing channels and through relevant industry events (ours and others)


  • BA/BSc or equivalent working experience
  • Strong demonstrated interest in innovation in clean technology, sustainability, climate impact
  • Ability to synthesize data and insights into clear and concise written messages
  • Ability to research effectively, and work toward deadlines
  • Desire for development, by giving and receiving feedback to other team members
  • Excellent written, excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Some limited travel may be required
  • Fluent English required, additional languages desired to support global primary research
