    After our US and European Forums in Q1, our focus moves to the Asia Pacific. In the opening session, we will be taking the temperature of this innovation region and highlighting the key innovation topics and investment trends to pay attention to, as the world grapples with the challenge of getting on a credible path to net zero.     In February 2020, Bernard Looney, bp’s new CEO committed bp to a new strategy to become a net zero company by 2050. In this fireside chat, we will hear from bp on what this new strategy might mean for its plans for the region, not only with regard to scaling up investment in clean tech to help decarbonize its own operations, but also how it is helping others in the region meet their net zero targets.

This session will highlight what we can expect to see from these next-generation software technologies across the Asia Pacific region this decade.

    Carbon Capture and Utilization - Solutions for APAC's Emissions

    Carbon capture is cited as a critical component of global decarbonization strategies, especially for difficult to decarbonize sectors. Global deployment is accelerating as pressure to reduce emissions continues to increase, yet challenges remain around policy, economics and ultimately the market for captured carbon. This session will explore the role of carbon capture in APAC, key challenges and innovations which can help address APAC emissions.

    As new protein production systems near commercialisation companies are deciding where to locate production facilities. Market leaders in plant-based and cultured proteins have broken ground on facilities in China. This session will explore how far new protein production will converge on cheap production costs, or create a distributed production model closer to demand.

    Returning to the Office: Building Technologies Improving Indoor Environments

    The awareness of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) is at an all-time high, with the heightened health risks of communicable diseases, research proving the impact of IAQ on productivity and the ability of connected sensor and feedback applications to optimize HVAC systems. This session with explore some of these drivers and assess whether this awareness will translate to accelerated market growth.

    On May 18 Cleantech Group released its fourth annual APAC 25, a list of 25 leading innovation companies from around the region and drawn from across the breadth of the cleantech theme. In part 1, we will hear 7 companies with solutions related to the future of energy, power or mobility. Based on the presentations in these sessions, tomorrow we will close the event by making a special APAC 25 expert panel judges‘ award to one of these companies.

    Energy Molecules: Asia Pacific’s Emerging Trade Flows

    As countries around Asia Pacific begin to mobilize around clean hydrogen and ammonia, the region is expected to see the development of regional clean fuel trade flows much sooner than expected. Countries which look to become leading exporters are developing major industrial hubs, and importers are looking to rapidly build out necessary infrastructure to enable scale. This session will explore the role of innovation with the regions developing energy molecule trade flows.

    Indoor farming: Crop Diversity, Scale, and Profitability

    New commercial indoor farming facilities are coming online, but the widespread adoption of indoor sunless systems is yet to be achieved. This session will explore whether these technologies will need to find specialised crops, new technologies, or business model innovation in order to reach profitability and scale.

Cleantech Forum Asia 2022 will be headquartered at the Sheraton Towers Singapore, 

located in the heart of Singapore next to the Newton station. The 5-star hotel is a mere 10-minute walk from Singapore’s famous shopping belt, Orchard Road. For those wishing to explore the garden city, you can easily get around via the Downtown and North South Lines to the Central Business District and other major places of interests, such as the Singapore Botanic Garden.

Outdoor Activities

Gardens by the Bay: Explore these waterfront gardens on reclaimed land, including the ‘Supertrees’ that inspired our event artwork for the Forum! These tree-shaped vertical gardens are between 9-16 storeys tall. Walk on the suspended walkway between two Supertrees, and in the evening, catch the sky show of choreographed lights and sounds at the Garden Rhapsody amidst the Supertrees.

And don’t miss out on the Cloud Forest, which features a 35-meter tall mountain and the world’s tallest indoor waterfall.

ArtScience Museum: Located within the Marina Bay Sands integrated resort, the lotus-shaped ArtScience Museum is an architectural must-see (along with the Marina Bay Sands Resort itself, of course!). Explore the exhibits on the intersection of art and science

Marina Bay Sands SkyPark: The iconic three-towered building with one of the largest cantilevers on top is impossible to miss across the Singapore skyline. Take a trip up to the SkyPark and enjoy the views from the Observation Deck or even take a swim in the infinity pool, 57 levels up!

Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay: Known as the “Durian” because of its shape similar to that of the fruit, Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, is host to an incredible range of world-class performances and events, across the genres of music, dance, theatre, visual arts and more. Check out the Esplanade’s website to see what’s on during your time in Singapore.

Dining

Singapore is a foodie’s heaven, with a wide mix of choices and cuisines. Our venue hotel is located next to the Newton Food Centre, one of the most famous hawker centres in Singapore, which was also featured in the movie, Crazy Rich Asians.   • Substitutions:
    • A request to transfer a registration to a colleague should be made by giving written notice via email. Cleantech Group reserves the right to deny a request for such a substitution, but will not unreasonably do so.
  • Cancellation by You:
    • Refunds for online/virtual events are not available.
    • No Show, the full fee will be applicable

Cancellation by Cleantech Group

  • If Cleantech Group chooses to cancel an event, a full refund would be owed except in the case where an event is cancelled, through no fault of Cleantech Group (e.g. a force majeure event like Covid-19).
  • In such a force majeure case, our standard terms and conditions do not oblige Cleantech Group to refund. This is a standard and necessary protection across the event industry (particularly aimed at the situation where a very late cancellation is forced upon the host at which point all the time and costs for hosting the event have been expended).
