Enass Abo-Hamed

Enass founded H2GO Power after her successful research with a novel porous catalytic material for the production and storage of hydrogen as part of her PhD at the University of Cambridge. Having previously obtained her BSc and MSc degrees from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Israel), she is currently a research associate at Cambridge and a Cambridge University Energy Champion.

Magnus Agerström

Magnus Agerström is Managing Director of Cleantech Scandinavia, which he co-founded in 2007. With more than 70 investors and industry companies from around the world in a membership network, Cleantech Scandinavia has become one of the most influential actors in the Nordic cleantech space. Before he co-founded Cleantech Scandinavia he co-founded sustainability consultant/software company, Natlikan Sustainability AB, where he was Managing Director for many years and from which he made a successful exit in 2011. Magnus holds a bachelor of Business Administration and has a passion for Environmental Economics. He is convinced that the way we use our economic system will have to be reformed in order for us to solve the big sustainability challenges ahead.

Jukka Aho

David Ainsworth

David’s breadth of experience has been a significant contributing factor to KPS’ success, from the development of aerospace and renewable energy systems; product development; renewable energy project environmental permitting to supply chain management and project delivery.

He joined Kite Power Systems in 2014 as Business Development Director and latterly as CEO, having led the successful effort in 2016 to raise KPS’s first £7M equity investment. KPS is now at the forefront of the developing Airborne Wind Energy (AWE) sector with a system that is reliable, efficient and capable of delivering clean, cheap energy at utility scale. The company’s aim is to provide energy at a lower cost than that of wind turbines by using 85% less material.

Prior to KPS David worked for Vickers Aerospace (now part of Eaton) developing hydraulic components for commercial and military aircraft and then on to Microturbo (now part of Safrane), a French company developing APUs, starting systems and thrust engines for a variety of aircraft, missile systems and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).

David then joined the UK start up Bowman Power Systems as employee number 2. Bowman developed microturbine Combined Heat and Power systems. From Bowman he then joined Marine Current Turbines as employee number two. Marine Current Turbines went on to develop the world’s most successful tidal turbine (SeaGen) in terms of the number of MegaWatt hours generated by a single turbine. The environmental data produced by SeaGen underpinned the rest of the worlds tidal project development for many years.

David is a Chartered Engineer with a degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the University of Southampton, UK.

Raised more than €15 Mio. in venture capital from Maersk Growth, Alstin and others to build the category leader in Europe. Married, 3 kids, I enjoy doing triathlon.

Sofie Allert

Sofie Allert is the co-founder and CEO of Swedish Algae Factory. She has a Bachelor degree in Biotechnology and a Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship and Business design from Chalmers University of Technology. Swedish Algae Factory was founded because of her passion for making use of a natural resource that can create a lot of sustainable value for society, algae. Swedish Algae Factory have developed a circular economic business model around a group of algae called diatoms.

The organic biomass of diatoms is surrounded by a nanoporous silica shell. This silica shell has naturally exceptional light-altering and absorbent properties that are useful in several industries, where the material can replace harmful and/or less efficient chemical substances. These unique properties can e.g. be used for efficiency enhancement of solar panels, improvement of battery capacity, UV light protection in sunscreens and paint and absorption and moisturizing in skincare products. Swedish Algae Factory are today operating an algae cultivation facility in Kungshamn, Sweden, where algae is cultivated whilst absorbing the nutrients nitrogen and phosphorus in wastewater released from a land-based fish farm. The nutrients are trapped in the organic biomass of the algae. This organic biomass is a by-product after extraction of the algae shells and can e.g. be utilized to produce more sustainable feed or fertilizers.

Christoffer Andersson

Christoffer Andersson was one of the first angel investors in Climeon and has been operational in the company since 2016, currently serving as CFO and Deputy CEO. He has a master of science degree in computer science and control engineering from Luleå University of Technology and has extensive experience in building companies on a global basis, from start-ups to business areas within large companies. Christoffer was previously advisor to growth companies and CEO of TargetEveryOne AB, a company that he took through a turn-around and listing on Nasdaq First North in June 2015. Before this, he held several positions as head of business area at Ericsson, for example in India and Germany, with up to 750 employees and a turnover of over SEK 1.5 billion. In addition, he has written best-selling books on mobile applications and his team in India has been profiled as best practice in the book “Organisational Design, What Your University Forgot To Teach You” by Andrew Olivier.

Sebastian Andreassen

Co-founder & CCO of Cembrane a/s since 2014. Cembrane manufactures a unique type of ceramic membrane used for reuse of industrial wastewater and treatment of drinking water. In many applications, Cembrane’ s technology can treat waste- and drinking water with an unprecedented footprint, lifetime and lifecycle cost. Despite its young age, Cembrane has supplied its membranes for reuse of more than 30 million liters of wastewater every day and more than 110 million liter drinking water daily, in more than 55 countries.

Sebastian holds a M.Sc. Eng. from Aalborg University of Denmark and has more than 10 years’ experience in the ceramic cleantech industry as a product developer, business manager and recently CCO. Before Cembrane he worked with product development, as a business manager and was part of the management group in Liqtech International a/s a publicly traded company on NYSE.

Robert Andrén

Robert Andrén has been appointed new Director General of the Swedish Energy Agency. He comes directly from the Ministry of Environment and Energy, where he is director of the Energy Division. He will start his new job on September 1st.

Florian Bachheibl, M.Sc. graduated from the University of Federal Defense, Munich in 2011 with a Master of Science in Mechatronics Engineering. He then joined the Institute of Electrical Drives and Actuators as a Research Assistant where he conducted research in the areas of modelling of passive components, systems engineering and fields analysis before he switched to VOLABO GmbH as a Co-Founder and Managing Director in 2016.

Fermin joined the European Investment Bank in February 2018 as part of the Infrastructure, New Products and Special Transactions division, mainly focusing on venture debt investments in clean-tech/infra companies, quasi-equity investments in infra projects and platforms and equity co-investments with infra funds.

Before joining the EIB, Fermin was M&A Director in Abengoa where he led transactions by more than EUR 1.5bn all over the world mainly related to the energy and water markets. He has also worked for Triodos Investment Management as Senior Investment Manager, Monitor Capital Private Equity as Associate and Arcano Partners as Analyst.

He was previously a director at Cleantech Group, where he advised the world’s foremost cleantech investors, corporates and governments, helping them assess and invest in new innovations. After starting his career in San Francisco and London, he moved back to France to head the group’s EU presence and clients. Jules graduated summa cum laude from Sciences Po Paris.

Eléonore Blondeau

Since 2016, she has founded CLEANCUP®, a turnkey solution unique in the world that distributes, collects and automatically washes reusable glasses on site, in order to eliminate the use of disposable cups and improve the way of drinking in campuses, businesses and communities.

From a business background, Eléonore started her own company straight after school. Passionate about cleantech she decided to take the challenge to develop her project in an industrial environment, surrounded herself by high quality partners like MICHELIN, SNCF and AXELERA.

Olivier Bordelanne

Olivier joined the team of DEMETER Ventures at the beginning of 2014. He is involved mainly in the technological files related to the domains of energy, environment, sustainable mobility and smart-city.

Before joining the team of DEMETER Ventures, Olivier worked about 15 years in the sectors of the energy and the environment in France and abroad (US, Scotland) into functions in connection with the innovation and the business development, at the same time within technological start-ups (Alterg, ITI Energy) or within big industrial groups (Atofina Inc. (Total), ENGIE).

Olivier holds a PhD in Physical-Chemistry of materials and a MSc from the University of Bordeaux (France) and a post-graduate diploma in physics and physical chemistry of the University of Metz. He is the author of several scientific papers and several patents.

Toon Bouten

Before joining tado° in 2017, Toon Bouten previously served as Vice President of Philips Electronics NV, where he led the European Consumer Division with multibillion Euro revenues in 48 EMEA countries. As Vice President of Compaq Computers he started the Compaq Consumer Division in EMEA and reached the number one market position in Europe with more than a billion Euro of annual revenues after six years. In early 2000, he took over the CEO position from the founder of Jobline AB, one of the first online recruiting companies and within one year successfully scaled the company to three divisions in nine countries, quadrupled revenues and listed the company on the Stockholm Stock exchange. More recently Toon served as President and CEO of GN Store Nord and GN Netcom, the Danish headset maker where he successfully redesigned its value chain and transitioned it to a scalable and well-positioned leader in the headset industry. Toon Bouten holds an engineering degree from the Technical University of Eindhoven.

Responsible for the commercialization of Solidia’s technologies, including agreements with essential business partners, Bo’s diverse experience includes start-up ventures, recapitalized turn-arounds, and leadership for maturing businesses in need of innovation and strategic marketing and sales initiatives.

Bo previously served in a variety of leadership and sales and marketing roles, including as managing partner of Ravenwood Consulting Group, Inc., a North American-based consultancy focused on revenue quality, commercialization of new product and service offerings, and strategic planning; in Citigroup Venture Capital’s portfolio of building products manufacturers; and with Saint Gobain’s North American building products group.

He earned his undergraduate degree in marketing management from Virginia Tech, M.B.A. from Wake Forest University, and Ph.D. from North Carolina State University.

Louis Brasington

Cindi is Partner of Total Ventures, the corporate venture arm of Total SA ($127B).  She is focused on finding, funding and fostering high-potential start-ups globally in renewable energy, mobility, smart-grid, battery storage, energy data intelligence, energy efficiency, software analytics, and enabling technologies.  She is a recent expatriate in Paris from San Francisco.  With over 18 years of experience, including 15 in energy, Cindi’s prior professional experience includes: the head of corporate development (M&A, investments, joint ventures, strategy) at SunPower (NASDAQ:SPWR); electric vehicle battery start-up co-founder/CEO; investment banker in traditional oil & gas energy (JPMorgan, Stephens).

Cindi is an alumni of Harvard Business School, University of Queensland (MA, International Business), and Rice University (BA, Economics, Managerial Studies).  In her spare time, she can usually be found on the trails, running or biking with her dog, on the slopes, or in a yoga studio.

Thomas Chrometzka

Thomas Chrometzka is in a strategic role overseeing market and business development at Enapter. Enapter is in the heart of decentralized green hydrogen production leveraging anion exchange membrane (AEM) technology. Enapter is scaling the production of small to mid-scale electrolyser systems and developing software-based energy management systems as a key enabler of wide-spread deployment. Thomas Chrometzka has a 10+ year background in the solar industry and international development. Based in Bangkok he used to work with governments in Asia, a major hydrogen growth region, and co-founded the smart energy start-up support initiative New Energy Nexus Southeast Asia.

Arati Davis

Arati Davis, Vice President Sweden India Business Council (SIBC). With SIBC, Arati is involved with the Sweden India smart city space, facilitating engagement within the areas of clean technology and strategy engagement, with a focus on SMEs. The work within smart cities and clean technologies is carried out in partnership with Government Agencies, but also with private sector actors and SIBC members. Arati has been working with environment, energy and sustainability issues for the last 18 years. This has included working with issues of energy law with Kirkland & Ellis, Washington D.C., The Energy Resources Institute, and Oxfam. Within the Sweden India Corridor, Arati has worked as National Advisor for Energy &
Environment, Embassy of Sweden, New Delhi as well as working with Sida on Partner Based Cooperation. Arati holds a MSc. in Natural Resource Management and B.A. in International Political Economy from SOAS, University of London, London School of Economics, and Swarthmore College, USA.

Steven De Boer

Steven has been in his current role as sustainability leader for SABIC’s global petrochemicals organization since 2016. His key objectives in the role are to reduce operational footprint of the production plants and translate the needs of customers into sustainable product solutions.

He obtained a PhD in Physical Chemistry from Groningen University in the Netherlands in 1990, before holding a position in materials R&D and then moving to product development for the polyethylene product line in 1995.

He continued as manager in PE product development from 1997 and moved to technology management in 1999. From 2000 to 2005 he was responsible for the technological staff in SABIC’s PE manufacturing operation in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.

Prior to his current role, from 2006 until 2009, he was responsible for the materials R&D for PE and PP in SABIC’s European technology and innovation center. From 2010 to 2015, he was innovation director for the global technology management organization of SABIC.

Natalie de Brun Skantz

Natalie de Brun is an economist and urban farmer who has co-founded the vertical farming company Grönska together with Petter Olsson and Robin Lee. Grönska develops technology for vertical farming and grows vegetables and herbs that are sold through food stores and wholesalers. The vision is to contribute to a more sustainable food consumption by producing locally grown food at large scale.

During 2018 Grönska constructed one of Europe’s largest vertical farms, situated in the south of Stockholm and the plan ahead is to continue the expansion.

Virginia de Guillebon

Steven De Laet

December 2015 Steven founded together with KULeuven University InOpSys NV. InOpSys provides on-site solutions for the treatment and recovery of side- and wastewater streams. Avoidance of transport and incineration of toxic/non-biodegradable/persistent wastewater’s and closing the loop in pharmaceutical and chemical production is the key focus.

Steven obtained his Master in Industrial Sciences (chemical process engineering) at the De Nayer Instituut (KUL) and a Master of Science in Engineering (chemical engineering) at KU Leuven (CIT). He worked at several chemical companies, such as Bayer Antwerp and BASF Antwerp. He continued his career in plastics and technical coating industry. Within Mondi Belcoat as operations manager and Technology & Business Development manager Technical Coatings. He later worked at ABInbev in the Leuven Brewery. In 2011 he became self-employed Business Development Manager for new chemical developments within VITO and Catalisti. As an independent management consultant he supported companies in: operations management, strategy development and implementation and side stream valorization projects.  Steven obtained an Executive International MBA degree from the Vlerick Management School (2008-2010).

Hans Dellenbach

Hans Dellenbach is a Partner as well as the CFO of Emerald Technology Ventures and based in the Zurich office. On the one hand, he is responsible for investor relations, legal & compliance, business development and fund operations. On the other hand, Hans also manages deal teams within the investment part of the business. Hans joined Emerald shortly after its creation in 2001 as a fund administrator and financial analyst.

Prior to joining Emerald, he was a financial controller with Switzerland’s largest tour operator Kuoni Travel and held other positions in the travel industry in Switzerland and abroad. Paul Dowman-Tucker

Paul joined Bowman in 2012 as Engineering Director, following 18 years working in the maritime industry. During this time he held several senior engineering roles in companies such as VT Group and BAE Systems.

During Paul’s time as Engineering Director he led product development and collaboration with customers on the adoption of Bowman’s Electric Turbo Compounding (ETC) products. In January 2017, Paul became CEO of Bowman.

Paul has a B.Eng in Yacht & Powercraft design from Southampton Solent University, is a Chartered Engineer and is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects.

Jonas Eklind

Business executive with extensive experience of leadership in technology based growth companies with focus on transformation of innovation into commercial success and global market expansion. Mathias Ekstedt

Mathias Ekstedt is Professor at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. He is also the co-founder and chairman of the board of foreseeti, a cyber security start-up company. His research and innovation interest areas include cyber attack and vulnerability modeling and analysis. In particular his work has been applied in the power industry and IT systems related to physical monitoring and control. He has been involved in numerous national and EU projects in these areas.

Johan Falk

Johan Falk is a leader and  entrepreneur in exponential strategies for business and climate with strong anchoring in the Internet and communications industry, research community and NGOs.

Johan is Senior Innovation Fellow at Stockholm Resilience Centre and at Future Earth and is heading up the exponentialroadmap.org initiative.

2018 he created and managed the Exponential Climate Action Roadmap and the Exponential Roadmap initiative with a strong consortia of partners.  They also published the 12 in 12 via World Economic Forum and was initiating establishment of the Step-up declaration initiative. Earlier on, he was one of the initiators of the Global Carbon Law idea, together with Owen Gaffney and Johan Rockström, inspired by Moores Law.

Johan Falk was recently  Intel Corporation 2006-2018, lately responsible for Intel IoT Ignition Lab in Stockholm, driving innovation and scale-out of next generation transformative IoT solutions for Smart Buildings, Smart Cities, telecoms and other verticals. Before that, he was heading-up the Intel Edge Cloud Game Changer program for 4G/5G networks been responsible for the business development program with Ericsson in the area of IoT and Mobile Broadband in particular.

He received the Intel Global Design Win of the Year 2010 for winning telecom service networks to Intel Architecture by applying a game changing strategy, growing exponentially now representing a multi-billion dollar business.

Johan worked at Ericsson Head of Product Management for GSM Multimedia Services, built up and start scaling the real-time charging (Pre-paid card) business exponentially, now representing a substantial business for Ericsson.

He is holder of a number of patents in the mobile communications industry, e.g., for 2 factor authentication, which is widely applied in the Internet industry today.

Johan went to Chalmers University of Technology Industrial Engineering 1985-1989, and was awarded the best Examination Thesis in Industrial Engineering (Nils Ericsson prize) 1990, and studied at Stockholm School of Economics 1984-1985.

Athan Fox

Imagine a world without waste. Our aim is to revolutionise recycling; our vision is a web of industries where one stream’s waste is another stream’s in-feed: bridging linear and wasteful processes to create a circular, energy-efficient, non-polluting, zero-waste economy.

We are working on a range of projects across the Technology Readiness scale. These projects include the recycling of lead-acid batteries, lithium-ion batteries, spent catalysts (from the petrochemicals industry), spent tyres and municipal waste. Our objective is to convert waste products into raw materials and reagents capable of treating / recycling other waste products. This synergy will help us create an Eco City where nothing but waste enters and nothing but products leave.

Our flagship technology is a green process for recycling lead-acid battery paste. We reduce the carbon footprint by 80-89%; eliminate noxious gases (e.g. sulphur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide) at no extra cost; we cut energy by more than 7,000 mWh per 10,000 tonnes of battery scrap throughput; we reduce slag by at least 90%; and we save more than $500,000 per 10,000 tonnes throughput. Batteries produced from our recycled lead oxide exhibit higher energy density and improved cycling compared to current batteries on the market.

Dr Athan Fox is a PhD graduate in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge and Chief Technology and Innovation Officer at Aurelius Environmental.

Pippa Gawley

Pippa is the founder and managing director of Zero Carbon Capital, th​e home of the Zero Carbon Fund. This is a new EIS fund to invest in early-stage companies that are on a mission to fix climate change through scientific innovation. We are looking for knowledge-intensive, hard-tech solutions that have the potential to make half gigaton-level reductions of CO2e at scale; and vision-aligned, ambitious teams to go with them. We can accelerate the zero carbon transition if we create technologies that are better and cheaper than fossil incumbents.​

Pippa started angel investing in decarbonisation technologies in California five years ago​, where she was an active member of the impact investing ecosystem​. Prior to that,​she held a variety of roles in general management, business analysis, ​and ​consumer-facing interactive user experience research and design​. She holds a Masters degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Cambridge.

Ludwig Goris

Obtained a Master in Chemistry (UGent) and a PhD in Physics (Hasselt University) focusing on organic solar cells research. After his post-doctoral scholarship at Stanford University Ludwig re-joined Hasselt University to develop new thin film diamond applications. In parallel, he was actively involved in technology transfer from lab to start-up company. Ludwig joined Capricorn in 2011.

Cyril Gouiffès

Cyril has been an investment manager within the venture capital team of EIF for the last five years. He is responsible for the management of EIF social impact instruments portfolio at EIF: Social impact funds investments, Social Impact Bonds and Investments in impact incubators. His entire career within EIF has been dedicated to impact related activities, starting with microfinance in 2008. In this context, he was responsible for the implementation of the JASMINE programme, an EU initiative aimed at boosting the institutional capacity of microfinance institutions in Europe. Prior to joining EIF, Cyril gained unique field experience working with microfinance institutions in the Middle East. Cyril is an occasional lecturer on impact investing at EM Lyon and studied at Toulouse Institut d’Études Politiques where he received a Masters in Development Economics.

Rhea Hamilton

As Managing Director Ventures of OGCI Climate Investments, Rhea Hamilton is responsible for economically viable investments in innovative companies and technologies. Previously, Rhea was a Managing Director for a European family office heading direct investments in clean technology and renewable energy. Prior to this, she was an Investment Director at RobecoSAM Private Equity. Rhea started her career with Royal Dutch Shell, where she held various positions including CFO of Shell Hydrogen. Rhea holds a Geological Engineering degree from the University of British Columbia, and an MBA from IESE in Barcelona, Spain.

Before serving as CFO of Utonomy Ltd. he was a VP in the Climate Change Capital Private Equity team, and CFO at LED lighting company Nualight Ltd. Alexander is Dutch and Swiss and studied Environmental Technology at Imperial College London.

Karl Hauptmeier

Karl Hauptmeier holds a MSc. in Energy- and Process- Engineering from the TU Berlin and has been granted with multiple fellowships during his academic career.

He is the Senior Product Manager for Electrolysis at the Sunfire GmbH, a technology start-up addressing a key challenge of today’s energy system: The conversion of renewable electricity into fuels and gases to replace natural gas and crude oil. At Sunfire, Karl is responsible for product and business development.

In addition, Karl is chairperson for policy topics within the CO₂ Value Europe Association. CO₂ Value Europe is representing industrial and research stakeholders with the mission to promote the development and market deployment of sustainable industrial solutions that convert CO₂ into valuable products, in order to contribute to the net reduction of global CO₂ emissions.

Previous to his position at Sunfire, Karl has gathered interdisciplinary experiences while working with the International Energy Agency in Paris and McKinsey & Company in Hamburg.

Yoachim Haynes

Yoachim Haynes is the Vice President of Strategy for EIP’s European Fund where he leads research, innovation, commercialization as well as LP engagement. He works closely with EIP’s global portfolio.

Yoachim has 10 years of experience working with startups, corporations and governments in the energy and climate space. He led the corporate innovation programs at Cleantech Group as a consulting manager where he developed the strategy for, launched, and operated multiple corporate venturing programs, including multi-stakeholder pilot project processes and CVCs. He also delivered clean technology market assessments, market entry strategy and other climate impact projects for governments and corporations. His clients in North America, Europe, and Asia operated across a diverse set of industries including heavy industry (e.g., steel, oil and gas, cement), power generation, real estate, agriculture, mobility and FMCG.  

He has a Bachelor of Science in Earth and Environmental Engineering from Columbia University (Cum Laude, C.P. Davis Scholar, Tau Beta Pi). He now lives in London but has spent most of his life in Trinidad and Tobago where he grew up.

Jonas Hellgren has a Computer Science background and over 25 years in technology companies, mostly startups. Most recently, he lead Vaultive (a cloud security and governance controls startup) as CEO to its successful acquisition by CyberArk in 2017

Björn Jernström

Björn Jernström is the CTO of Ferroamp. A company he founded in 2010 based on the now patented ACE technology that enables savings on grid fees and faster EV charging. A concept that has now evolved into a modular system based on DC microgrids. Björn is the inventor behind four different patents related to the technology. Prior to starting Ferroamp he has worked as project manager for a thin film CIGS pilot plant, R&D manager for optical media replication equipment and also within different companies related to electric measurement technology. Björn has a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from KTH in Stockholm. He has previously founded two successful startups in the electric power industry.

Richard Törnblom

Richard Törnblom is the chief marketing officer of re:newcell. He is also an advisor to, and investor in, other innovative companies with a strong sustainability profile. Mr Törnblom was previously the CEO and partner of the brand management consultancy LynxEye. Prior to that he was SVP of the digital communications group Adera, Managing Director of Arrow Electronics Sweden and Engagement Manager at McKinsey Company. Richard holds a Master of Science from the Stockholm School of Economics.

Dr. Tomas Kåberger

Dr. Tomas Kåberger is affiliate professor of Renewable Energy at Chalmers University of Technology in Göteborg and Industrial Growth Executive at InnoEnergy. He is also Executive Board Chairman of Renewable Energy Institute in Tokyo and a senior advisor to GEIDCO in Beijing. He also serves as member of the Swedish Climate Policy Council and as a non-executive director of the energy company Vattenfall.

He is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences and The Swedish Association of Energy Economists.

He started his career as energy campaigner for the Swedish Society for the Conservation of Nature, and has since he has servedin different leading position of solar, wind and bioenergy companies and as Director General of the Swedish Energy Agency.

Joachim Karthäuser

Joachim has a background with several board and executive positions in start-ups. He has previously worked with e.g. Shell, NKT and AGA. Joachim is a chemical expert and has extensive experience in R&D, Sales and working with Intellectual Properties / Patents.

Abdul Khogali

Abdul holds a MASc. degree from University of Toronto, and has over five years of experience in business development. He served as an environmental consultant, coordinating with hundreds of clients in the GTA, ensuring projects were don with a high level of quality and within the regulatory frameworks set by the governments. He also worked as an operations manager for a security firm, leading the development of multi-million dollars deals and managing over 70 staff members. Abdul also holds a B.Sc. in biopharmaceutical science with a specialization in genomics.

Ubald Kragten

Ubald Kragten is heading the Business & Market Insights group within the DSM Innovation Center in The Netherlands. In this role he and his team are strongly involved in shaping the Innovation Portfolio within the DSM Innovation Center with a strong focus on identifying new strategic growth areas and developing key market insights to grow and improve our business. In his daily activities he’s involved in scouting for interesting start-ups, engaging with incubators and accelerators as well as executing deep dives into emerging business areas. Across DSM he is strongly involved in building functional excellence in Business & Market Insights as well as in embedding a digital enabled, insight driven way-of-working. Prior to this he worked with DSM Fine Chemicals dealing projects varying from strategy development, performance measurement and business reorganization programs towards marketing and pricing strategies for existing and new products. He started his career within DSM as an R&D scientist and project leader and he obtained a MSc in Chemistry in 1985 at the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands.

Martin Kröner

Dr. Martin Kröner is Managing Partner at Munich Venture Partners, the cleantech venture capital specialist based in Munich. He was co-founder and CEO of agnion Energy Inc., a supplier of distributed energy plants to convert woody biomass into electrical power and natural gas. Prior to agnion, Martin worked at Linde Engineering, world¹s leading supplier of technical gases and one of the most profitable engineering companies. Prior to Linde, Martin built up Thermotec Engineering Services, a spin off from the Technical University of Munich. He holds a M.Sc. in mechanical engineering and a Ph.D. in combustion engineering from the Technical University in Munich. Martin is or was responsible for the MVP investments in COBI, Kebony, Luxexcel, GreenCom Networks, Sonnen and Electrochaea.

Elin Larsson

Nils studied Marketing and Control Systems in Singapore and Lund and then spent the first ten years of his career at Ford Motor Company in Sweden/Norway and England. When his childhood friend called and asked if he wanted to embark on an entrepreneurial journey, Nils quit his job as Marketing Manager at Ford Sweden and joined the start-up.

And he has never looked back.

Nils’ passion is to bring an idea to fruition and see it get a foothold in the market and move it into the growth phase. During the development of Lepido, Nils has spent equally much time between technical development and customer research, firmly believing that it is imperative to know the market, make sure the product offering really suits the customers’ needs and only then, find the technical solution to the problem.

Fabian Lemke

Dr. Fabian Lemke is a co-founder and managing director at nuventura. Together with nuventura, Fabian is working on eliminating SF6 – the most potent greenhouse gas – from the electricity grid. Their innovative switchgear technology simply replaces SF6 with dry air, which not only leads to environmental benefits, but also enables significant performance advantages.

Prior to nuventura, Fabian worked for 5 years in the energy sector for McKinsey and 3 years as a founder and CEO of Sanubi. He holds an engineering degree in Reactor Technology from the RWTH Aachen University and a PhD in Engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Fabian is a proud father of two little girls.

Patric Lindqvist

Patric has about 30 years experience in global Equity markets in deep fundamental research, management positions as well as asset management in addition he also has experience from strategy management consulting. Over the last year he has specialized entirely on Sustainability Investing and manages a dedicated climate fund exclusively investing in global solutions to reduce climate impact. In addition to attracting significant new capital to the Fund enabling a 5x growth over the last 3 years the Fund is among the top rated in its category in Europe in Morningstar and was one of the first to be award the Swedish Eco label “The Swan”. Patric has also been actively engaged as a speaker in various investor and political forums on Sustainability Investing and its challenges and opportunities and possible pathways forward.  Patric speaks 5 languages and has an international background.

Rolf Luchsinger

Rolf is CEO and co-founder of TwingTec. He has a long track record both in industry and academia. He worked at ABB and was the founding director of the Centre for Synergetic structures, a Swiss public private partnership from the ETH-domain. Next to TwingTec he co-founded Tensairity Solutions which commercializes a new light-weight structure. Rolf has broad experience in innovation, technology development and management. He has more than 80 peer-reviewed publications and is inventor/co-inventor of 20 patents. Rolf firmly believes in sustainability and speaks at events such as the World Future Energy Summit, Ecosummit and the Green Innovation Forum. He holds a PhD in Computational Physics.

Otto Lundman

Otto Lundman, is the CEO and cofounder of Modvion. Modvion  focus on demanding constructions in laminated wood – natures carbon fiber for large scale construction. Steel and Concrete causes large amounts of  CO2 emissions and in order for society to become carbon neutral, we need a shift in building materials. Modvion enables 6 % lower cost of wind energy – through modular wind power towers in laminated wood. The modularity enables taller turbines, the material enables significant cost reductions and zero emissions. Modvion’s first tower is just about to be installed in the Gothenburg archipelago in the summer of 2019.

Otto holds a M.Sc. in Entrepreneurship and Business Design and a B.Sc. in Product Development from Chalmers University of Technology and is furthermore a Commissioned Officer in the Swedish Amphibious Corps.

Katherine MacDonald

As Greentown Labs’ Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships Katie is responsible for all of Greentown’s corporate partnerships activities with over 35 (and growing) corporate partners. Over the last three years, Katie has developed Greentown Labs’ internal corporate challenge program, Greentown Launch , a novel program designed to facilitate investments and deals between global energy and technology actors and early stage cleantech ventures. Over the last three years, Greentown Launch has achieved almost $10M worth of deals facilitated and successfully enabled over 65% of startup participants to leave programs with tangible corporate agreements and investments. Katie has run programs focussed on advanced materials, digital innovation, distributed energy, energy storage, electric and hydrogen mobility and building energy technology. As the former Executive Director of Cleantech Open Northeast, Katie lead the premier cleantech business accelerator on the East Coast of the United States for three years. Under Katie’s leadership, the accelerator saw record breaking application numbers and a 100% recommendation rate from startups. Katie is a dedicated climate advocate. In her free time she advises the MIT Clean Energy Prize and serves as the Board Chair of Climate X Change, a national non-profit dedicated to passing legislation that puts a price on carbon.

Olivier Machet

Olivier Machet is Senior Manager Development of New Activities, Operation and Engineering Expertise at ENGIE Hydrogen International.  His mission is to develop the business solution on green hydrogen through an innovative and disruptive approach. He is presently leading a major project in the PACA region (south of France). Olivier has a long standing experience in gas business: 15 years at ENGIE as Technical Director and  Underground storage director. He holds an Executive MBA from HEC Paris, an engineering degree from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure du Pétrole et des Moteurs. He also holds an engineering degree in Civil Construction and carried out his research thesis (DEA) in Construction and Urban Design.

Petr Míkovec

Petr Míkovec is Managing Director, Chairman of the Board of Directors and co-founder of INVEN CAPITAL, fully employed from May 2014. Petr is responsible for overall fund strategy, deal sourcing, investment process and portfolio value enhancement. Petr was directly responsible for successful completion of investments into sonnen, tado° and Cloud&Heat technologies where he serves as Advisory Board Member. In addition to that Petr represents INVEN at Corporate Club of ETF (Environmental Technologies Fund based in London). Patrik Möller

Patrik is the CEO of CorPower Ocean, a leading wave energy developer bringing a step-change improvement on the efficiency of harvesting wave energy. He has led CorPower since 2012, building the team from the start to current 30 people, raised 24 MEUR and taken the technology through three stages of structured verification. He is a board member of Ocean Energy Europe and ETIP Ocean, setting the European roadmap for ocean energy. Patrik is a passionate entrepreneur with experience of building several technology start-ups from first idea to multi-national operations.  He has a MSc in chemical engineering from Lund Institute of Technology and UC Berkeley, California.

James Murray

James Murray is the Head of Product for P2P energy trading at Verv. James focus is on developing Verv’s green electricity sharing platform which is looking to cut carbon emissions using enabling technology like AI and blockchain. Verv conducted the first trade of energy on blockchain technology in the UK last April. In past roles James worked in the insurance sector and cloud hosting industry, creating APIs and digital experiences.

Ben Murphy

Ben is an Investment Manager at IP Group focussed on cleantech. His portfolio boards include Mixergy innovating in domestic demand side response; C-Capture, bringing word leading CO2 separation chemistry to market and Ngenics, which uses evolutionary algorithms to optimise circuit designs.

Ben has spent over ten years working in low carbon technology. Including working for Google screening low carbon investments in Europe; doing scientific research at the European Commission; in the Carbon Trust helping governments and corporations to allocate innovation funding and for the Brazilian National Development Bank advising on the redesign of multi-£bn energy efficiency loan schemes.

Ben has a first class degree in physics and mathematics as well as a masters in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London. As well as working in England he has also worked in Italy, Spain and Germany.

Ingrid Nordmark

Ingrid Nordmark has a Master’s degree in Applied Physics and Electronics from Linköping University and has over 20 years of experience from R&D in Telecom and IT. Companies where she has worked are Transmode, Ericsson, Celsius Tech and Teleplan as well as the research institute RISE. At Ericsson, she has built up a solid knowledge of mobile systems through management positions in product development of GSM, WCDMA and as head of 4G development. As part of that mission, she established and built up the entire global product organization for the development and maintenance of 4G products. As CEO for RISE SICS (Swedish Institute of Computer Science) she focused on strengthen the research in AI, IoT and Cyber Security. The goal was to achieve sustainable development in the Swedish industry. Ingrid is now working in her own company Nordmark Leadership, a consulting company focusing on leadership combined with strong knowledge in technology. Ingrid is Chairman of the board in APR Technologies AB and board member in DEK Technologies AB.

Jimmy Ördberg is Senior Director and head of Technology Center at Husqvarna Division. The department develops battery and electric drive systems, IoT solutions, perform CAE simulations, manage several labs and the prototype shop and is also responsible for product compliance within the division. Jimmy previously had a position as VP Technology Management at Husqvarna Group where he drove the overall process for early stage innovations across the divisions, especially within battery drive systems and connectivity.

Before joining Husqvarna, he worked for Atlas Copco (now Epiroc) where technologies for battery operated equipment for underground mining was one of his responsibilities. Further back he held management positions within product development and R&D at General Motors and Saab Automobile for more than 20 years. He was a council member of the Vehicle Research Program FFI, founded by the Swedish Government Authority Vinnova. A water recycling add-on system for laundry machines that recycles 50-90% of the water, saves energy by keeping the heat in the system and captures the microplastics from the clothes. Isabella has an international background, from living several years in different countries, where her passion for sustainability grew stronger. Mimbly was founded because we want to make water consumption more sustainable.

Dennis Pamlin

Dennis Pamlin is an entrepreneur and founder of 21st Century Frontiers. His main skill is work with companies, governments and NGOs as a strategic economic, technology and innovation advisor in the area of disruptive sustainability. His background is in engineering, industrial economy and marketing.

He is a Senior Associate at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, a senior advisor at RISE, a visiting research fellow at the Research Center of Journalism and Social Development at Renmin university, advisor to Centre for Sustainable Development at Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and accelerator of digital sustainability/net-positive at Cybercom.

Current work includes work to establish a global trend assessment tool to support sustainable disruption in collaboration with UNDP, leading the development of framework for companies, organisations and cities to measure and report their avoided emissions (climate positive) under Mission Innovation, exploring the impact of our “digital twins” and development of tools that allow public procurement to support transformative sustainable solutions. He is also engaged in the development and implementation of the concepts “ecological civilisation” and “half-earth”.

Louis Papaemmanuel

Louis Papaemmanuel has been working at the interface of technology and innovation with a strong focus in European funding throughout his career, with a track record of 40 mil euros of grant funding raised in the past 10 years, with extensive experience in project design and management, in charge of leading consortia of various sizes in government funded projects with budgets in excess of 1,5 million euros.

His expertise has been solicited by both private and institutional bodies are Europe and beyond, and he has been invited to share his experiences as a consultant within entrepreneurial ecosystems by more than 30 prominent innovation platforms around Europe (WebSummit, Slush, CeBit, Pionneers festival, amongst other), but also public institutions (European Commission & Parliament in Brussels, African Union in Addis Ababa, UNESCO in Paris, Bruegel, amongst other).

Until recently, Louis was the Managing Director of EU Startup Services, a leading European consultancy on EU Funding for Startups, with customers in over 25 EU countries. Today he is working as a specialized consultant with a very selective pool of companies and accelerators focusing predominantly on the SME Instrument.

Dr. Amanda Parkes

Amanda is a fashion technologist with over 12 years of experience in wearable technology, interaction design, smart materials, and fashion innovation. The former Chief of Technology and Research at Manufacture NY, Amanda holds a Ph.D & M.S. in Tangible Media from the MIT Media Lab, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (Product Design). Amanda is an international speaker & lecturer, working with TED, DLD, SXSW, the NY Times International Luxury Conference, and Allewatch.

Praveen Paranjothi

Praveen Paranjothi invests in early-stage tech and is a Partner at Pinegray Partners, an investment advisory firm focused on VC and tech PE. He is also the founder of the Europe-India tech corridor, Startup Europe India Network, the key startup initiative in the EU-India Agenda for Action 2020.

Praveen was involved in over half-a-billion commitments in leading VC and growth capital funds and co-investments. He served on the Advisory Boards of over 14 VC and Growth capital funds and worked with teams that have led investments in top-notch companies such as Spotify, UiPath and the likes. He has previously worked with European Investment Fund, Siemens Venture Capital, Nokia and Nokia Siemens Networks in Germany.

Praveen is ranked as the Top 40 under 40 EU India Leaders. Kunal Phalpher

Kunal is Li-Cycle’s Chief Commercial Officer and has extensive international experience in the lithium-ion battery and renewable energy sectors, with a focus primarily on strategy and business development. His experience includes time as the former Director of Product Development at a residential solar company and Director of Business Development with a lithium-ion battery manufacturer. Kunal initially served as an Advisor to Li-Cycle before becoming a Director in calendar Q1 2018 and subsequently joining the executive team. Kunal holds a Bachelor of Applied Sciences in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto, with a Master of Business Administration from the Rotman School of Management.

Nicolas Piau

Nicolas is co-founder and Managing Partner of TiLT Capital Partners. He was most recently SVP in charge of Mergers & Acquisitions for Engie, a Paris based energy company employing over 150 000 people across 70 countries. He’s been working in the field of energy and project development / M&A for the last 13 years, after 5 years in HR working on social sustainability. He is also a First Mover Fellow of the Aspen Institute. He enjoys structuring the small 200 kUSD access to energy projects in Africa as much as the multi-billion power or oil & gas deals in the US or Russia. Currently based in Paris, Nicolas lived in Brussels and Rome and spent a lot of time on transactions in the US, China, Russia, South-East Asia and South America. Sustainability and ethics have been at the core of his motivation, fueled by his graduation in Philosophy and Political Sciences and translated into a PhD in Economics on this topic, earned magna cum laude from Paris-Dauphine university.

Russell has over 25 years’ international experience in the low-carbon sector, as serial entrepreneur, venture capitalist & board director. Russell has helped to build and run over $1 billion of companies, projects and venture capital funds for Carbon Trust, Nomura, Saudi Aramco and UK Green Investment Bank – Sustainable Development Capital. He is also a member of Toniic Impact Investors and a Director of the Sustainable Business Network for Young Presidents Organization (YPO).

Hrishi specialises in new market development, customer relationship management, strategy and has successfully managed deals of over $30Mn

Being a sustainability enthusiast, Hrishi started TrusTrace along with 3 colleagues with a personal motivation to enable responsible production practices and circular business models. His objective is to use technology to enable companies become more sustainable and help fight climate change. Currently, his team is spread between Sweden and India with plans for global expansion.

Aruna Ramsamy

Aruna Ramsamy is a senior investment professional with OGCI Climate Investments. At Climate Investments, Aruna provides early stage financing to innovative companies focused on lowering the carbon footprints of the oil and gas, energy and industrial sectors. She has over fifteen years of experience in impact investing, venture capital and corporate finance.

Prior to Climate Investments, she was with the Soros Economic Development Fund leading investments in Sub Saharan Africa to promote economic growth and the creation of sustainable low-income jobs. She started her career at Credit Suisse in the Energy Group of the investment banking division and managed the financing of several renewable energy projects.

She holds a bachelor’s degree with Honours in Economics and Finance from McGill University and an MBA from INSEAD.

Lucy Rands

Lucy is an Associate at ETF Partners, having joined the firm in 2016. ETF is a London based VC investing in Europe’s leading technology ventures showing sustainability through innovation. Lucy splits her time between deal sourcing, deal execution and in supporting the current portfolio companies in their growth.

Lucy sits as an observer on the boards of Worldsensing (operational intelligence and monitoring solutions, Spain), iGeolise (travel time analytics, UK), Corporater (flexible business management software, Norway), Phenix (Food waste platform, France) and Cloud&Heat (sustainable data centers, Germany).

Lucy holds an MEng degree in Materials Science from the University of Oxford.

Thomas Ranje

Joined Pareto in 2015 after more than 21 years in the Nordic financial markets, of which 10 years with Carnegie in Stockholm and Oslo, as CFO of Scandinavia Online AB, an Internet Portal Company listed in Stockholm and Oslo and 10 years as an independent corporate finance advisor. Thomas has vast experience from ECM transactions in Sweden and Norway and M&A transactions in the Nordics and internationally. Thomas has a M.Sc. in Accounting & Finance and Financial Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics.

Magnus Rehn

Magnus coaches companies in Cleantech and Sustainability. He has been CEO for TagMaster AB, a global company working with RFID technology in access and security systems and in connection with transport. He has worked in roles as Head of marketing and sales and as CEO, and has worked in the USA and Germany in banking technology, telecommunications and software. He also has experience from doing business in Europe, North America and Asia, specifically China, India and Japan.

Erja Retzén

Erja Retzén is Senior Managing Director at Nasdaq, Global Listing Services. She works closely with existing and future issuers listed on Nasdaq Nordic, and furthermore operates within the mining and exploration companies, as well as in the gaming and cleantech sectors. Erja joined Nasdaq in 2005 and has held several positions within the company. Previous to Nasdaq Erja had a number of manager roles within marketing communications, business excellence and project management. Erja holds a M.Sc. (Eng.) in industrial engineering and management, and has also graduated from Oulu Mining School’s GeoPros PD program.

Javier Garcia Sedano

Javier A. García Sedano has more than 30 years of experience in Industrial IT & Automation and is an expert in Artificial Intelligence applications. Physicist, specialized in Electronics and Automation, and a passionate of the potentials of Machine Learning for the society. His areas of work and expertise include: Industrial Artificial Intelligence; Machine Learning and Optimization Algorithms; Energy and Resource Efficiency in Industrial Processes; advanced Industrial Datamining and Data Analytics; Entrepreneurship; Complex Sales Processes and International Business Development. He is the CEO and Founder of the OPTIMITIVE, with a large track of successful innovative Artificial Intelligence applications in Industry. He worked previously in companies like IBERDROLA Engineering, ORMAZABAL Group and TECNALIA Research Corporation, having carried out Research, Development and Innovation Management responsibilities. He has also been Reviewer and Evaluator of R&D projects for the European Commission. As entrepreneur, he has participated in the SURGE Accelerator program in Houston-Texas and has won several prizes and recognitions to entrepreneurship and innovation, including a Sophia Business Angels award to the most investible company.

Rowena Sellens

A PhD chemist by background, Rowena has 28 years senior management experience in the chemical industry, having held responsibility for R&D, manufacturing, sales & marketing and general management in ICI and Lucite International. This culminated in GM responsibility for Lucite’s €120Mpa turnover EMEA Materials businesses with leading brands Perspex®, Lucite® and Diakon®. She led technical and IP functions through transition from ICI to private ownership and then played a key role in commercial integration of global materials businesses following acquisition by a Japanese multi-national. Passionate about developing individuals and teams to deliver beyond their own expectations, she creates strong values-based culture within her businesses.  As the first CEO of Econic, her role is to define and lead the delivery of the complete suite of critical success factors required to achieve Econic’s strategic business objectives and secure the anticipated value returns. Since her arrival in 2014 Econic transformed from a pure catalyst research team to a focused business operation covering all aspects of market and technology development. The IP portfolio of the company has trebled in size. The team has grown from 9 to 30 people. Two funding rounds have secured £12M investment and two new investors. In 2017 Rowena relocated the business from Imperial College’s London incubator to Alderley Park in Cheshire. A £2M Horizon 2020 SME award helped build the pilot scale Customer Demonstration Facility opened in 2018.

Noah’s entrepreneurial experience, his understanding of and networks within the shipping industry, combined with his strong business acumen, have been central in developing and taking the company’s pioneering air lubrication technology, the Silverstream^® System, to market and commercial fruition.

In 2014, Noah secured a landmark deal with Shell to fund one of the most robust and rigorous sea trials for a clean technology seen within the shipping industry, the results of which proved the validity and viability of the Silverstream^® System. Following the success of the trial, in 2015, Noah led Silverstream to secure its first commercial order with leading cruise operator Norwegian Cruise Lines. The impressive performance of this installation, and subsequent installations within the industry, has created interest across the maritime sector and from a variety of market segments. Silverstream is now engaged with multiple industry-leading ship owners, as well as with some of the world’s principal shipyards to deliver further installations.

David Sonnek

Prior to joining Industrifonden, David was the head of SEB Venture Capital, the venture capital arm of the SEB Group. David also has a background from Ericsson where he has held executive positions within strategy, marketing, and product development.

David has a research background in experimental atomic physics. He holds a Ph.D. from the Royal Institute of Technology and an MBA from the Stockholm School of Economics and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Robert Sunderland

Rob Sunderland studied Physics at the University of Warwick. Upon graduating he spent the next seven years working for multinational technology companies including QinetiQ, EADS and Airbus. In 2010 he made the life-changing decision to leave a regular salary behind and he started his own business, Digital Engineering. In many ways he has continued his education at Digital Engineering, learning about all the disciplines required to run a successful business.

As Managing Director, he sets the strategic direction for the business and manages both the sales and technical teams. From 2010 until 2015, the company expanded significantly, providing services to the growing UK renewables industry. Political changes, which saw big cuts made to subsidies in this area, caused a slow-down in the renewables industry and forced a major change in strategy at Digital Engineering.
From 2016, Digital Engineering has focused on supplying services to the wider energy industry. It quickly became clear that this change was actually very positive for the business as it opened a larger, more lucrative market for the company’s services. In the past 3 years the business has won contracts with major multinationals such as Bloomberg and National Grid and is currently working in Europe, America and Australia.
At work, Rob enjoys doing things differently and is constantly looking to solve problems in new and creative ways. He is passionate about growing his business and is excited to take it to the next level.

Outside of work he loves to travel, keep fit and watch Manchester United. He enjoys listening to music and playing the piano.

Tobias Svanberg

Tobias Svanberg is Development Leader for water solutions in Range and Product innovation at IKEA of Sweden.

With a 15 years of experience within IKEA, I’m now leading this strategic innovation initiative to create simple low costs water solutions for the many people across the 52 IKEA markets.

Prior to the current role I was managing the Taps Category for IKEA globally for over 10 years, taking big leaps quality and sustainability for taps and shower solutions across IKEA globally.

Before the life ok IKEA I was leading sourcing and quality activities across several southeast Asian countries and China.

My spare time are taken up by different sport activities together with my family where football and downhill skiing being the absolute favourites.

Jocelyne is also a Foreign Trade Advisor for the French government.

Nicolas De Witt

Nicolas joined the Paris office’s corporate department as partner in November 2008. Admitted to the Paris and New York Bars, Nicolas specializes in financing transactions for listed and non-listed corporations.

He has extensive expertise in fund raising (from venture capital to LBO transactions) and M&A transactions, advising both French and international clients, investment funds, managers or targets.

For over 15 years now, Nicolas has been advising issuers or banks on stock exchange law, in the context of initial public offerings, rights offering, block sales, public offers to buy or exchange, and delisting on French and American markets.

He also advises issuers as part of tax exemption transactions by public offering without listing.

She is a mission driven leader with international experience in sustainability, fashion, technology, and startups. Lauren represents the SAC at industry events across Europe, where she educates wide-ranging industry stakeholders on the latest sustainability issues and Higg Index developments.
