Agenda
22-23 September – The Road to Circularity
The make-use-dispose model of consumption has raised our living standards at the cost of environmental destruction. The circular economy promotes a reduce, reuse and recycle model that enables our economies to grow and maintain planetary boundaries.
At sessions across two days, we’ll assess how circular our industries are, how innovation can increase circularity and what the limitations of the circular model could be.
We’ll start with a general session on circularity, before diving into the topics of plastics, food and batteries.

Circularity in Plastics
Plastic can be great, but plastic pollution is not. Circular solutions for plastics like recycling and reuse keep plastics in circulation for longer and reduce single-use plastic waste. However, innovators are often limited by the availability of data and data tools, while corporate actions to reduce plastic waste are often ill-informed and untargeted. This session will focus on innovators alleviating this roadblock and using data capture and analysis to unblock the path to the circular plastics economy.

A Circular Economy for EV Batteries
Electric vehicles are essential to meet the goals outlined in the Paris agreement, but the extractive, resource-intensive nature of EV batteries could inhibit their sustainability.
