Join Richard Youngman, CEO of Cleantech Group, as he welcomes participants to the 20th annual Cleantech Forum Europe. We will set the stage for the rest of the Forum, with the objective that, together, in a community-offsite format, we will explore and share insights across 3 days on these overarching questions:
– What are the pivotal trends and topics of the coming 20 years?
– What areas within cleantech could Europe genuinely build future competitive advantage around?
– What ideas do we have to change the narrative so European consumers/voters always want to vote pro-cleantech in future elections?​

Cleantech Group and TiLT Capital will co-host this special invite-only Executive Summit on scaling European cleantech champions. There is a robust supply of European innovation that could help get us to net-zero. However, the transition from startup to true industrial player is riddled with obstacles and represents another valley of death. Key questions for discussion in this summit format will include:
– What kind of financing tools and partnership models need to be made available for companies executing on the scaleup journey?
– How should such companies evolve, bringing on the right capabilities and talent to support them at that inflection point?

In 2024 Cleantech Group produced “Cleaning Up with AI”, the first global study to baseline the potential of AI across the whole cleantech landscape – from Ag & Food to Transportation, from Material Discovery to enabling whole new energy and industrial systems.

Cleantech Group has recently concluded its initial landscaping of the innovation opportunities in the Blue Economy, exploring the start-ups, investors, corporations, and countries actively engaged with the myriad of opportunities and challenges related to making the oceans our ally in taming the climate crisis

Pretty much every serious and active venture investor in Europe, be they a venture builder, VC fund, or corporate venture capital, has participated in a Cleantech Forum over the last 20 years. For the scale of transformation implicit in net zero by 2050 to be achieved, however, this theme has to be everyday business in mainstream finance, such that, over the next 5, 10 and 20 years, we see all other investor types in the finance stack play an ever greater part. Our innovation community needs to build these bridges and relationships. We start today by hearing perspectives from a range of such investor types – what they are currently doing, how do they see the path forward and how they believe we get beyond first of a kinds, to multiples of a kind.

To round out the opening day, we will introduce you to the 2024 Cleantech 50 to Watch, the trends they represent, and a few of the exciting early-stage innovators on this year’s list.
