Zero-Emission Transport: going way beyond the current paradigm

Our in person program is built around mini-Summits on 4 topics we consider critical to not only the net zero ambitions of Scotland and the UK, but also to the economies of Europe and beyond. In each mini-summit we will aspire to bring together perspectives from all the critical stakeholders (policy/public sector, corporations, investors and innovators) and to showcase example of some tangible and innovative actions and programs being undertaken in the pursuit of net zero commitments. The focus of this first mini-Summit will take us well beyond the electrification of the passenger car and major on the hardest net zero problems (in heavy duty vehicles, aviation etc.) and examine some of the emerging ideas out there (from hydrogen-powered to hyperloop). This time-block will develop into its own mini-agenda, with the emphasis on interactivity and sharing information and ideas.

    COP-26: the hopes and needs

The November COP-26 in Glasgow represents a critical moment for political leadership to signal we are collectively serious about the biggest common global problem, post Covid – namely the Climate Crisis and the dual challenge of achieving net zero by 2050 and rebuilding transformed and fairer economies in the process. Can policy provide the pathways, the demand shock needed for the innovation-enabled transformations to accelerate towards 2030? What can we expect from COP-26? A representative of the hosting UK government will provide their perspectives, Cleantech Group theirs.

  • In Person
Green Hydrogen: getting beyond the hype

Our second mini-Summit is on a topic we consider critical to not only the net zero ambitions of Scotland and the wider UK, but also to the economies of Europe and beyond – namely green hydrogen. With the ambition to bring together perspectives from all the critical stakeholders (policy/public sector, corporations, investors and innovators) and to showcase examples of some tangible and innovative actions and programs being undertaken, the focus of this mini-Summit will take a reality check on the enormous hype around hydrogen, to assess where we are truly are, and the opportunities and issues ahead locally, regionally and globally. This time-block will develop over the coming weeks into its own mini-agenda, with the emphasis on interactivity and sharing information and ideas.

  • In Person
    Lunch, Meetings, Discussions and Connections

One of the things we have all missed the most is in-person interactivity. This time-block will be used to prioritise meetings and discussions to ensure our in person attendees benefit from dedicated time  to making the most of the opportunity to be together once more.

  • In Person
The Decarbonization of Heat: getting serious

Our afternoon mini-Summit is focused on the decarbonization of heat. Decarbonizing electricity still seems to get the lion’s share of attention and media coverage and yet is the challenge we arguably have most under control.  Heating (and cooling in warmer climes) is a major roadblock in the sprint to net zero. With the ambition to bring together perspectives from all the critical stakeholders (policy/public sector, corporations, investors and innovators) and to showcase examples of some tangible and innovative actions and programs being undertaken, the focus of this mini-Summit will showcase some examples of what is being done, with what kind of results, to inspire more actions and faster progress. This time-block will develop over the coming weeks into its own mini-agenda, with the emphasis on interactivity and sharing information and ideas.
