Cleantech Innovators Across APAC Region Recognized in 2021 List

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – 17 May 2021

Cleantech Group released the 2021 APAC25, a list of private and independent sustainable innovation companies in the Asia Pacific region that have gained the attention of market experts and are viewed as likely to have significant impact in a five-to-ten-year time frame.

Cleantech Group put together the annual list of 25 companies through a combination of contributions from the APAC 25 Expert Panel, people connecting regularly to innovators in the region, with APAC-related inputs from the annual Global Cleantech 100 process. The companies on the list had the strongest patterns of agreement across all the input points and were scored the highest. Companies can only be on the APAC 25 list once.

The APAC 25 is made possible by the support of ADB Ventures and Enterprise Singapore.

Arriving at the List

Members of the APAC 25 expert panel play an important role in creating the list. Each provides between three and nine nominations, no more than a third of which can be portfolio companies (in the case of investors). Expert panelists can weight their nominations, and all nominations are blind (no expert sees the other panelists’ nominations). These nominations are then combined with the outcomes from the Global Cleantech 100 process, which benefits from thousands of data points.

A View of the Future

“If we cannot successfully decarbonize Asia Pacific over the next three decades, we will collectively fail as a global species,” said Richard Youngman, CEO of Cleantech Group. “With that reality as our backdrop, we are delighted to present our 2021 APAC 25, twenty-five more leading innovation companies pursuing solutions to reach net zero.”

Meet the companies on the APAC 25 list at for Cleantech Forum Asia, Singapore on 8-10 June.
